A year later...!
Hello readers,
We are now a year on, and summer is (finally) dawning, after a long and cold winter. We have made great strides, and are very happy with a fully occupied Mill House, and the top reviews we get from our guests. It's hard work, but with results:
- Apart from our holiday in January, the Mill Cottage has been rented out almost constantly. We already have bookings for next year too from "repeat guests".
- Direct bookings and repeat bookings are rising sharply.
- The guests are more than satisfied: that's what we do it for :-)!
- We are constantly improving: the entire garden is now fenced, we have installed mobile windbreaks on the deck, outdoor beanbags, screen doors and added an electric charging station...just to name a few :-)!
- The website remains a source of concern but is finally somewhat steady live, in 3 languages.
- We are slowly building the B&B room: the bathroom is ready. So are the electrics, air conditioning and furniture, but there is still some work to do.
- Our guests come from the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium, in all ages, compositions, with and without dogs, looking for peace, birds, a unique place or something else ? ...
Do we still like it on the island? A resounding YES: we are having a super good time here, enjoying the views, the outdoor life, the peace and quiet, continuing to build and rebuild, and of course each other :-). Life is good on the island. Borre is already fully into his job, Jet has taken on a marketing assignment, which she can do from the island. All in all, a very rich, filled and fine (island) life that never bores for a moment: on the contrary!
The Rondje Texel has been, the largest catamaran race in the world: beautiful weather and beautiful sight , now we're on to summer, Oosterend Present and local festivals. In terms of restaurants, we just discovered Oudeland in De Koog: with a top chef and service, highly recommended! And so we keep discovering.
