There are still places on Texel where you can enjoy the real unspoiled island life in peace. Our place offers this, with the fantastic view of Molen het Noorden as a bonus - you can't get any closer! – and about nature reserve Drijvers Vogelweid De Bol.
Surrounded by a nature reserve, it’s just a few minutes’ walk along the mill dyke to the Wadden Sea. What’s more, in the village of Oost you’ll find a top-class restaurant within walking distance. And the award-winning terrace and excellent, atmospheric restaurant Floris is less than 1 km away on foot – at Hotel Prins Hendrik.
It really is a paradise, including for birdwatchers.

Where do we come from?
With roots on the island, we Robert (Borre) and Jet waw Stuifweg 1-3 for sale in 2021.
We decided, after years of urban living in the Randstad (Hilversum, Utrecht), that we should not let this opportunity pass by. We fell in love with this uniquely beautiful place. In the middle of Corona time we packed our stuff and moved to the island. Without a minute of regret so far!
Dog Moetje, a happy and sweet white Golden Retreiver completed our team.
We decided to set up ZoWad and build Molenhuisje Beaufort. Out of respect for the historic windmill (one of the most photographed spots on Texel), the island and its history, we had this lovely house built in the traditional style based on our own design and concept.
We would like our guests to share what we get to experience every day: how ‘skittering’ island life is here!
