The origin of....ZoWad & our island life!
Hello readers,
After a year of building and renovating, we landed on the island and ZoWad has started!
The construction of Molenhuisje Beaufort started in January with the digging of the foundation, the first guests were able to enter the house on July 22. Very nice guests who congratulated us with a bottle of Prosecco. After months of professionals on the floor (very cozy and busy), it is now time for our guests.
The first reactions are super enthusiastic. People like to live in the cottage, and are very happy so far. Almost everyone takes a four-legged friend with them, which Moetje really likes.
After painting, sanding, arranging, lugging, drawing and toil, we are now busy with the website and further building ZoWad.
In the autumn we will build another bathroom, and we will think about the B&B room: De Molensuite. We have plans for solar panels (like so many others), and the Molenhuisje still needs to be finished: a gutter, windshields and some minor repairs.... fortunately it never ends and there is always room for improvement!
Felt isolated on the island? Not a moment! Thanks to nice guests, many visits from family and friends, nice neighbours, nice new job and nice colleagues for Borre, and regular visits, it has been a super nice year for us, already: we feel completely at home and continue to build our ZoWad paradise with love.
